The Madison County Republican Party voted on party officeholders, reorganized the Madison County Republican Central Committee, and elected delegates to the state convention on May 26, 2016. Following the May 17 primary election, all party and Central Committee positions expired on May 25, 2016. Incumbent County Chair, Doug Ricks, conducted the reorganization meeting.
During reorganization, precinct committeemen nominated and voted for party and Central Committee officers. Newly elected Precinct Committeemen include: Susan Brown, Tim McGary, David Taylor, Burley Johnson, Gwen Lee, Jeff Carter, Cole Baldwin, Boyd Cardon, Marsha Bjornn, Rebecca Powell, Doug Ricks, Adam Jacobs, Harrison Smith, Richard Smith, Joseph West, Adrian Baird, Richard Pocock, Shane Ruebush, and Randy Sutton. Precinct committeemen were elected by members of the Republican Party in Madison County’s 19 precincts during the May 17 primary election.
Doug Ricks was re-elected as County Chairman. Shane Ruebush was elected as First Vice-Chairman and Adrian Baird as Second Vice-Chairman. Joseph West was retained as treasurer and Bob Jones as secretary. Marsha Bjornn was re-elected as State Committeewoman and Richard Larsen was elected as State Committeeman. Britt Raybould again won the position for State Youth Committeeperson. The County Chairman, State Committeewoman, State Committeeman, and Youth Committeeperson all have voting rights on Regional and State Republican Party Committees.
In addition to the election of officers, eight Delegates and eight Alternates were selected to represent Madison County at the State Convention in Nampa, Idaho, on June 2-4. The Delegates are Doug Ricks, Boyd Cardon, Richard Larsen, Dell Raybould, Jeff Carter, Joseph West, Marsha Bjornn, and Britt Raybould. The Alternates selected are Ron Nate, Harrison Smith, Mary Carter, Melissa Ricks, Nathan Relken, Vera Raybould, Linda Taylor, and Terri Cardon. These individuals will be voting for State Republican Party leaders and National Convention Delegates. They will also vote on any changes to the state platform, party rules, and resolutions proposed during the convention.
